Mr. Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain, born on July 14, 1999, in Muradnagar, Cumilla, Bangladesh, is a notable student activist and currently serves as an adviser to the Interim government of Bangladesh. He is a key figure in the Anti-Discrimination Students’ Movement, which played the most significant role in the 2024 Bangladesh quota reform and non-cooperation movements, leading to the end of fascist regime through the resignation and fleeing of the then prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Mr. Asif completed his secondary education at Nakhalpara Hossain Ali High School in Dhaka and his higher secondary education at Adamjee Cantonment College, where he was a cadet sergeant in the BNCC (Bangladesh National Cadet Corps). He is currently pursuing a Master's degree in the Department of Linguistics at the University of Dhaka. He leads a simple life and is unmarried.
Mr. Asif’s activism began with his involvement in Dhaka University campus from 2018. As part of this, he led the movement of reforming the quota system in government job in 2018. He has been giving voice for a long time for the safety of road and so he actively participated in road safety movement in 2019. Out of his uprightness, he has been vehemently demanding justice for the murder of BUET student Abrar Fahad. He was found to be so vocal against various irregularities of Government Machineries which failed to relate and respect the priority of students and youth society. For his high voice against injustice and anomalies, he had been imprisoned several times during the fascist sheikh Hasina Regime. Not only that Mr. Asif along with his comrades protested against injustice and torture by fascist Government and their associate organizations. Of Late Mr. Asif organized the Anti-Discrimination Students’ Movement against indiscriminatory quota system in government jobs. This movement culminated into mass upsurge and toppled the fascist government following which significant political changes came up in Bangladesh. His leadership and dedication to social justice has earned him national recognition.
In August, 2024, Mr. Asif was appointed as an adviser to the interim government led by Nobel Laureate Muhammad Yunus. He currently serves as the Adviser of the Ministry of Labor & Employment and also the Ministry of Youth & Sports. His journey from a student leader to a key adviser rightly endorses his rapid rise and exceptional leadership potentials. His is also familiar as a good sportsman. He dedicates his life for welfare and noble cause of this valiant nation. His vision is to ensure justice and make Bangladesh a happy and prosperous country.

জাতীয় ক্রীড়া পরিষদের সচিব হিসেবে ১৪ জানুয়ারি ২০২৪ তারিখে দায়িত্ব গ্রহণ করেছেন যুগ্মসচিব মোঃ আমিনুল ইসলাম, এনডিসি। তিনি বিসিএস প্রশাসন ক্যাডারের ২০তম ব্যাচের কর্মকর্তা। ২০০১ সালের ২৮ মে ঢাকা বিভাগীয় কমিশনারের কার্যালয়ে সহকারি কমিশনার হিসেবে চাকুরি জীবন শুরু করেন। এরপর পর্যায়ক্রমে মুন্সীগঞ্জ জেলা প্রশাসকের কার্যালয়ে সহকারি কমিশনার; নেত্রকোনা জেলা প্রশাসকের কার্যালয়ে সহকারি কমিশনার, সিনিয়র সহকারি কমিশনার, নেজারত ডেপুটি কালেক্টর ও প্রথম শ্রেণির ম্যাজিস্ট্রেট (আমলী আদালত ও দ্রুত বিচার আদালত); প্রধান উপদেষ্টার কার্যালয়ে প্রধান উপদেষ্টার প্রটোকল অফিসার; নোয়াখালী ও চাঁপাইনবাবগঞ্জ জেলায় অতিরিক্ত জেলা ম্যাজিস্ট্রেট; বিসিএস প্রশাসন একাডেমিতে উপ-পরিচালক; শিক্ষা মন্ত্রণালয়ে সিনিয়র সহকারি সচিব; প্রবাসী বাংলাদেশীদের শীর্ষ গন্তব্যস্থল সৌদি আরবের জেদ্দাস্থ বাংলাদেশ কনস্যুলেট জেনারেল-এ কাউন্সেলর (শ্রম); বিআইডব্লিউটিসি-এর পরিচালক (প্রশাসন) এবং বাংলাদেশ সরকারি কর্মকমিশন সচিবালয়ে যুগ্মসচিবসহ বিভিন্ন দপ্তরে দায়িত্ব পালন করেছেন। তিনি সিলেট ক্যাডেট কলেজ থেকে কুমিল্লা শিক্ষা বোর্ডের অধীনে এসএসসি পরীক্ষায় সম্মিলিত মেধা তালিকায় ৮ম স্থান এবং এইচএসসি পরীক্ষায় বোর্ড বৃত্তিসহ কৃতিত্বের সাথে উত্তীর্ণ হয়েছেন। তিনি ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে মার্কেটিং বিষয়ে বিভাগীয় বৃত্তিসহ প্রথম শ্রেণিতে বি.কম. (সম্মান) ও প্রথম শ্রেণিতে এম.কম. ডিগ্রি অর্জন করেন। পরবর্তীতে La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia হতে তিনি Master of International Business and Master of International Relations ডিগ্রি অর্জন করেন। গভর্ন্যান্স ইনোভেশন ইউনিট, প্রধানমন্ত্রীর কার্যালয় এবং হার্ভার্ড কেনেডি স্কুলের উদ্যোগে জনপ্রশাসন মন্ত্রণালয় কর্তৃক গঠিত সিভিল সার্ভিস অনুষদ সদস্য হিসেবে তিনি তালিকাভুক্ত। ইতোপূর্বে তিনি Resource Persons Pool-2008 এর একজন সদস্য ছিলেন। তিনি ২০২৩ সালে ন্যাশনাল ডিফেন্স কলেজ, বাংলাদেশ হতে ন্যাশনাল ডিফেন্স কোর্স সম্পন্ন করেছেন। দেশের অভ্যন্তরে বিভিন্ন প্রশিক্ষণের মধ্যে ২৯তম বুনিয়াদি প্রশিক্ষণ কোর্সে সম্মিলিত মেধা তালিকায় ৪র্থ এবং ৪৬তম আইন ও প্রশাসন কোর্সে সম্মিলিত মেধা তালিকায় ৯ম স্থান অর্জন করেছেন। অধিকন্তু, বিসিএস প্রশাসন একাডেমীতে অনুষ্ঠিত নির্বাহী ম্যাজিষ্ট্রেটগণের জন্য প্রশিক্ষণ (৬ষ্ঠ ব্যাচ)-এ ১ম স্থান অর্জনসহ বিএমএ অফিসার্স ওরিয়েন্টেশন কোর্স, সার্ভে এন্ড সেটেলমেন্ট প্রশিক্ষণ, ভূমি প্রশাসন কোর্স, Training on Procurement of Goods and Services, Advanced Course on Administration and Development ইত্যাদি প্রশিক্ষণ কৃতিত্বের সাথে সম্পন্ন করেছেন। পাশাপাশি বিভিন্ন উচ্চতর প্রশিক্ষণে অংশগ্রহণের জন্য তিনি জাপান, শ্রীলঙ্কা, অস্ট্রেলিয়া, মালয়েশিয়া, সিঙ্গাপুর, থাইল্যান্ড, ওমান, নেপাল, ভারত ও পর্তুগাল সফর করেছেন। তাছাড়া ভারতের নদীয়া ও শিলিগুড়িতে অনুষ্ঠিত DC-DM Joint Border Conference-এ অতিরিক্ত জেলা ম্যাজিষ্ট্রেট হিসেবে তিনি অংশগ্রহণ করেছেন। প্রসঙ্গতঃ দেশের অভ্যন্তরে অনুষ্ঠিত বিভিন্ন প্রশিক্ষণে সহপাঠ কার্যক্রমের ক্রীড়া অংশে তাঁর সক্রিয় অংশগ্রহণ ছিল। ক্যাডেট কলেজ জীবনেও ক্রীড়াসহ বিভিন্ন ক্ষেত্রে একজন দক্ষ সংগঠক হিসেবে তিনি সাফল্য অর্জন করেছেন। বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় জীবনে এবং বিভিন্ন কর্মস্থলে ক্রীড়ানুরাগী হিসেবে তার পরিচিতি রয়েছে। ব্যক্তিগত জীবনে তিনি বিবাহিত এবং দুই পুত্র সন্তানের পিতা।

Joint Secretary Md. Aminul Islam, NDC took charge as Secretary of National Sports Council on 14 January 2024. He is a 20th batch officer of BCS administration cadre. On May 28, 2001, he started working as an assistant commissioner in the Dhaka Divisional Commissioner's office. Then Assistant Commissioner in Munshiganj District Commissioner's Office; Assistant Commissioner, Senior Assistant Commissioner, Negarat Deputy Collector and First Class Magistrate (Administrative Court and Fast Track Court) in Netrakona District Commissioner's office; Chief Adviser's Protocol Officer in the Office of the Chief Adviser; Additional District Magistrates in Noakhali and Chapainawabganj Districts; Deputy Director at BCS Administration Academy; Senior Assistant Secretary in the Ministry of Education; Counselor (Labor) at the Bangladesh Consulate General in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, a top destination for expatriate Bangladeshis; Served in various offices including Director (Administration) of BIDBUTC and Joint Secretary in Bangladesh Public Works Commission Secretariat. He passed from Sylhet Cadet College under Comilla Education Board with merit in SSC examination with 8th position in combined merit list and HSC examination with board scholarship. He has B.Com in first class with departmental scholarship in Marketing from Dhaka University. (Honours) and first class M.Com. Obtained a degree. Later he obtained Master of International Business and Master of International Relations degree from La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia. He is listed as a member of the Civil Service Faculty formed by the Ministry of Public Administration under the initiative of Governance Innovation Unit, Prime Minister's Office and Harvard Kennedy School. Earlier he was a member of Resource Persons' Pool-2008. He completed National Defense Course from National Defense College, Bangladesh in 2023. Ranked 4th in the combined merit list in 29th Basic Training Course and 9th in the combined merit list in 46th Law and Administration Course among various trainings within the country. Moreover, BMA Officers Orientation Course, Survey and Settlement Training, Land Administration Course, Training on Procurement of Goods and Services, Advanced Course on Administration and Development etc. along with securing 1st place in Training for Executive Magistrates held at BCS Administration Academy (6th Batch) done with. He has also visited Japan, Sri Lanka, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Oman, Nepal, India and Portugal to participate in various advanced trainings. Moreover, he participated as Additional District Magistrate in DC-DM Joint Border Conference held in Nadia and Siliguri, India. Incidentally, he had active participation in the sports part of co-curricular activities in various trainings held within the country. He has achieved success as an efficient organizer in various fields including sports in the cadet college life. He is known as a sportsman in university life and in various workplaces. In personal life he is married and father of two sons.
